My Lakers won another NBA championship!
We're still catching up with True Blood. We're not really enjoying it all that much, but I'm hoping the last few episodes will pick up.
Top Shot was enjoyable. I could have done without the silly drama between the competitors, but the guy who won was decent enough. The final challenge was well designed for maximum tension and came down to the final couple of shots.
Lie To Me was outstanding! Tim Roth leads a really excellent ensemble.
White Collar...damn that show! There just aren't enough episodes. And now I have to wait until January to find out if Mozzie makes it! Dammit!
So You Think You Can Dance came to a somewhat predictable but very satisfying conclusion, with Lauren Froderman walking away as the Season 7 champion.
I really enjoyed Hot In Cleveland. And it has been picked up for another season, so I've got my eyes peeled for the return.
USA Network has a winner with Burn Notice. I missed the first couple of seasons, so I'll look for those on DVD. At least we only have to wait until November for this one to return.
We found some other fun shows we enjoyed too like Warehouse 13 (campy and fun) and Haven (spooky) on SciFi Channel, and Covert Affairs (Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham are terrific) on USA Network.
So now we've got to check out the new season of TV. And you know first up we've got the premier of Dancing with the Stars on Monday!! Here's some of the other programs we're checking out:
- Castle (ABC): We like the chemistry between Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic.
- Detroit 1-8-7 (ABC): The cast looks interesting, and I'll usually check out a new cop drama and give it a chance. I'm always looking for another show that's as good as I thought Homicide: Life on the Street was.
- Hawaii Five-O (CBS): We'll check this one out. It's a cop drama, and it's based on what I think is one of the all time cop dramas. Plus we like Scott Caan, who plays Danno.
- NCIS (CBS): This is a favorite.
- NCIS Los Angeles (CBS): We were a little disappointed in this show, but we'll give the second season a chance.
- The Defenders (CBS): I'm not much for lawyer shows, but this one has Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell, so we'll at least give it a look.
- The Mentalist (CBS): This is a favorite we'll return to. When we last left Patrick Jane, he had been in the room with the serial killer Red John.
- Blue Bloods (CBS): It's another new cop drama. This one brings Tom Selleck back to series television, so we'll check it out.
- The Event (NBC): No more Lost and no more Flash Forward. So NBC has their entry into the "it looks like we're just making shit up as we go" genre. This show will be on a very short leash.
- Glee (FOX): We don't really watch it that closely. Mostly we fast forward through the program and stop on the musical numbers.
- Lie To Me (FOX): Sweet! It returns in November and moves to Wednesday.
- Human Target (FOX): Definitely looking forward to the return of this show. This show is made by the cast of Mark Valley, Chi McBride, and Jackie Earle Haley.
