We took Mr Tucker for a check up yesterday morning, and the news was pretty good.
- He still has some fluid in his chest, but not as much as before. There has been no coughing, and Doc didn't hear any signs of wheezing or gurgling when she listened to his lungs.
- His breathing is almost normal...relaxed and comfortable.
- The arrhythmias he had are still there, but he doesn't have any new ones.
- He is gaining back some weight, and starting to fill out a little.
Doc wants to see him once a month for the next three months, and then she'll do another echocardiogram and a full battery of tests. It's too soon to tell whether his condition is just congestive heart failure and reversible, or whether he's got full on congestive heart disease.
But the prognosis is much better than it was a couple of weeks ago. I'm beginning to relax again, and not worry that I'm going to walk in the door one day and find him...well, I won't say it. He's not out of the woods, but he's better and that's what I wanted to hear.
