Posted: 07 Aug 2011 12:32 AM PDT Tadd Gadduang, Marko Germar, Sasha Mallory and Melanie Moore were named this season's SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Top 4 finalists on Thursday night's exciting results show. Eliminated tonight were Ricky Jaime, 19, a Contemporary dancer from Miami, FL, and Caitlynn Lawson, 18, a Contemporary dancer from Moses Lake, WA. Tonight's show also featured performances by American Idol finalist Pia Toscano, who sang her new single, "This Time," and dance troupe the Bad Boys of Dance. Tune in the following night, Thursday, Aug. 11 at 8/7c, for the thrilling two-hour season finale. On the season's final results show, the Top 20 dancers will reunite on stage for the first time and viewers will find out which dancer will earn the title of America's Favorite Dancer, walk away with the $250,000 cash prize and be featured in an online ad for Gatorade and on the cover of Dance Spirit Magazine. Don't forget to cast votes for YOUR favorite dancer immediately following Wednesday's final performance show. |
Idol’s Pia Toscano to Perform on Dance Posted: 07 Aug 2011 12:32 AM PDT Singer Pia Toscano was a standout on Season 10 of American Idol. She recently debuted her first single, “This Time,” and tonight she will perform it on the So You Think You Can Dance results show. Last month, Pia announced that she signed a record deal with Interscope Records and 19 Recordings. Pia has been performing “This Time” on the American Idols LIVE! Tour all summer long. The next wave of nominees has been announced for TEEN CHOICE 2011, airing live Sunday, Aug. 7 at 8/7c on FOX. So You Think You Can Dance has received a second nomination, this time for Choice Summer TV Show. Earlier this summer, it was revealed that SYTYCD is up for the Choice TV: Reality Competition award. FX Renews ‘Louie,’ ‘Wilfred’ & ‘Sunny’ Posted: 07 Aug 2011 12:31 AM PDT Filed under: Reality-Free, TV News After a solid debut season for FX’s strangely hilarious ‘Wilfred’ and an ever-more popular season 2 for the Louis CK-starring ‘Louie,’ the network has decided to bring both shows back for more. And although season 7 of ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’ doesn’t premiere until September, FX has already ordered two more season of the hit show. According to TVLine, after ‘Sunny’ seasons 8 and 9, the show will be the longest-running live-action basic cable comedy ever. And good news for Canadian fans of FX shows: the cable network will launch a branch for our neighbors to the North. FX Canada will debut in November, FX president John Landgraf told TV critics at Saturdays Television Critics Association panel.

Jason Bateman talked about the ‘Arrested Development’ movie and then told us not to. A ‘Glee’ spin-off got put on hold as a ‘Glee’ project kid walked out on Ryan Murphy. Inside ‘Two and a Half Men’s’ First Episode: So Long, Charlie Posted: 07 Aug 2011 12:31 AM PDT Excited for taping his first episode of “Two and a Half Men,” Ashton Kutcher tweeted, “Preparing to tape the first ep of 2.5. Little nervous. All will be revealed!” The episode taping, which took place Friday night, showed Charlie Harper’s funeral scene, but audience members did not learn how he dies, according to TMZ. Sources claimed the audience only saw parts of the funeral, which featured Jon Cryer, Angus T. Jones, Melanie Lynskey and Jenny McCarthy. Keeping Charlie’s cause of death under tight wraps, the show’s scenes were shot out of order, with multiple takes involved — ensuring unspoiled plot lines. Ashton’s debut was a hit, and audience members were treated to some extra special attention from the actor, including a surprise back rub for one lucky woman!

Lollapalooza Kicks Off in Chicago Posted: 07 Aug 2011 12:31 AM PDT Summer’s rock fest is here! Lollapalooza’s three-day event kicked off its 20th anniversary bash on Friday at Chicago’s Grant Park. The trend-setting music festival was established by Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell and has been held annually at Grant Park since 2005. Big bands headlining Friday included Foster the People and Cults, Muse and Coldplay — who warmed up the crowd with a surprising performance of Jay-Z’s “99 Problems,” inspiring thousands to get up and dance. “All three days are sold out, 90,000 a day,” Farrell said to USA Today. “Lollapalooza is such a beautiful, exciting notion now.
