Hok Konishi is Nominated for a VMA Posted: 28 Aug 2011 12:54 AM PDT Season 3's Hokuto "Hok" Konishi earned an MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best Choreography for LMFAO f/ Lauren Bennett & GoonRock's "Party Rock Anthem." The summer hit features Hok's fast-paced and up-beat "Shufflin'" choreography. Hok not only choreographed the video, but he dances in it alongside Season 1's Ryan Conferido. The Season 3 b-boy has tough competition though–two of the other four videos nominated in the category include choreography by past So You Think You Can Dance choreographers–Brian Friedman (for Britney Spears' "Till the World Ends") and Laurieann Gibson (for SYTYCD Guest Judge Lady Gaga's "Judas"). Good luck, Hok (and Brian and Laurieann)! |
New Promo for FX’s ‘American Horror Story’ (VIDEO) Posted: 28 Aug 2011 12:54 AM PDT Filed under: TV Previews, The Show Girl, Fall TV ‘American Horror Story’ (premieres Wed., Oct. 5, 10PM ET on FX) is still somewhat of a mystery — there’s a troubled family living in a haunted house, plagued by horrific things — and FX’s previews aren’t helping matters any. But boy, are they creepy. Described as “addictive,” “terrifying” and “sexy,” the new “Creators” trailer claims that the show has everything you love about a thriller, but nothing you expect. From the minds of ‘Glee’ co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, this new psychological thriller is decidedly darker than their song-and-dance-filled Fox hit. Starring Dylan McDermott as Ben Harmon and Connie Britton as his wife Vivien, the spookiness starts when the Harmons move from Boston to L.A. Rounding out the star-studded cast is Jessica Lange as the Harmon’s neighbor, as well as Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, Denis O’Hare and Frances Conroy. Also just announced is ‘Heroes’ alum Zachary Quinto as a gay interior designer who used to own the Harmon’s new home. Curious? Check out the trailers right here and tell us what you think.

‘Community’ Season 3 Promo Featuring Guest Star John Goodman (VIDEO) Posted: 28 Aug 2011 12:54 AM PDT Filed under: TV Previews, The Show Girl, Fall TV I love ‘Community.’ I even named it the returning show I’m most excited about. So naturally, the first promo for Season 3 (premieres Thurs., Sept. 22, 8PM ET on NBC) makes me all kinds of giddy. Here’s what we know: John Goodman is stopping by Greendale to play Vice Dean Laybourne, the head of their prized school of air conditioning repair, who’s also out to make our own Dean Pelton’s life a living hell. What we didn’t know? He’s playing the part with an accent not unlike a Batman villain in a voice that can only be described as booming. Oh, and you probably shouldn’t ever ask him “wazzup?” Watch this hilarious promo to see Goodman in fine form, the Dean with some new facial hair and his idea of normal business attire, the words “nostril” and “rectum” and a quick glimpse of some kind of sparkly, streamer-filled dance number. Yes, please.

Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva Reach Settlement Posted: 28 Aug 2011 12:54 AM PDT After a long custody battle between actor Mel Gibson and girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva over their minor daughter, a settlement reportedly has been reached. According to KABC.com, the Los Angeles County Superior Court officials said a deal is in place following several days of negotiations, but the details are not being made public. In 2010, Gibson was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery following an altercation with Grigorieva. He chose to plead no contest in the case. The actor was ordered by the court to attend counseling and most recently completed community service as a volunteer for a children’s foundation in Guatemala. Gibon’s racist and sexist rants were recorded and leaked on the internet by celebrity website RadarOnline.com. Sheriff’s officials used the recording as part of their criminal investigation, but Grigorieva’s lawyer stated in May that he would discontinue using them against Gibson in the case.
