Louis Vuitton Minaudière Trésor Renard
With only less than five hours away for the New Year, 2011, I still have not decided what Vuitton to bring to dinner with Jeff. Gone are the days when I had to wear something bright and colourful. This usually involves polka dots because the Chinese part of my family believe that circles are harbingers of goodLVck for the coming year. I wish though that I had Louis Vuitton's Minaudière Trésor Renard. Crafted out of silver tip fox fur and trimmed with python, this luxurious clutch is part of LV's Evening Collection. Unfortunately, the $6000 price tag is a tad bit much for an occasional sac du soir.
I suppose I will have to settle for my trustee ol' Irvine Velours in tandem with my Monogram écharpe de vison.
Happy New Year to All! Manigong Bagong Taon Po! Wishing you all lots of LVoe for 2011!!!

Mona Lisa's Eyes
Hmmm...maybe there is some truth in Jason Alper's interpretation of La Joconde. I never paid attention to this bit of news that have raised eyebrows in the art world. Apparently, Italy's National Committee on Cultural Heritage has claimed that there are letters in the Mona Lisa's eyes. Care to guess what they are? It's "L" and "V". Of course, the attribution is to Leonardo da Vinci initials or merely scratches to the 500 year old painting. But, to a Louis Vuitton Lover such as myself, I would imagine that Lisa Gherardini has indeed exceptional taste.

LVook-See
One thing I enjoy the most is when I see bags in a Louis Vuitton boutique that I have never seen before. There are approximately 140 stores worldwide and I am fortunate enough that we have FIVE stores around where I live. Last night, I was arrested by two LVoely versions of the Brea in Epi Leather, happily sitting by LV's windows. I bet it is not a mere coincidence that both were sporting the colours of the season, Ivoire and Rubis.
I've always pictured the Brea as a business type bag but the colours pulled them out of their ho-humness and breathed life into them. (Gosh, so dramatic!)
Lastly, as I was stepping out of the store, my eye caught a huge chunk of leather sitting close to the ground. It was none other than Fall Winter's Intrigue in Gris. They did not have this in September's Trunkshow and I was dying to play with this $4000 baby. Sadly, it was near closing and I did not want to impose on my sales associate.

Louis Vuitton 100 Legendary Trunks
I received quite a few emails this morning regarding what I got from Santa last night. I wish it were a bag but I guess I was not a good boy this year :0) At least it's not coal or worse, Redskins tickets. Presenting my Louis Vuitton 100 Legendary Trunks book in its special edition sleeve. It was so heavy that I wondered how the Big Guy got it through our chimney... LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!!

Michael Strahan (retired All Pro defensive lineman) and Cheryl Burke
Cathy Rigby (former Olympic gymnast and actor) and Tony Dovolani
Landon Donovan (American soccer player) and Edyta Sliwinska
Lisa Leslie (retired WNBA player) and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Martin Short (actor and comedian) and Anna Trebunskaya
Bonnie Wright (actor) and Derek Hough
Tyson Beckford (model) and Chelsie Hightower
Amber Riley (actor) and Louis van Amstel
Eddie Izzard (comedian and actor) and Lacey Schwimmer
Valerie Bertinelli (actor) and Jonathan Roberts
John Cho (actor) and Julianne Hough
Padma Lakshmi (Top Chef host) and Dmitry Chaplin
Alas and alack, I am not Dancing King.
**sigh**
We must wait patiently for March to see who will contend for Season 12's Glitter Ball of Glory.
**sigh**

May the Lords of Dance grant my wish for Ms Valerie to come dancing.

2010 in review
At midnight on Friday, 365 days will have passed. That's the extent of my 2010 review.
HA!
OK, I'll be serious.
Stop laughing!
Let me say this. In life, there are always at least two options to any decision. Sometimes you get more options...sometimes all good ones, sometimes all so-so ones, and sometimes all sucky ones. Or sometimes it's a mix of a lot of good/so-so/sucky.
But at a minimum, you'll always have two options.
Nobody gets to make me do one or the other. To act or not...that's what I get to control.
Best wishes to all for a year during which you act or don't act according to your own choosing.

Louis Vuitton Etui à Cigarettes
Ever since I switched phones, my Monogram cigarette case (which has always been used for mobile devices; I don't smoke) has been lying dormant in the back of my underwear drawer. I tried using it to hold earphones, lips balms, and car chargers but it just didn't work. As I was getting ready to go out this evening, it somehow fell and got entangled in one of my socks. I was then holding my iPhone 4 in the other hand and a light bulb went off in my head. It was the perfect fit!!! I felt like I was given a new LV piece tonight!

Me and My LVoe
From Brisbane with LVoe
One thing I absolutely LVoe is featuring people with their Louis Vuittons. It's one thing to see them on celebs, but real people are far more interesting to me. Take for example Sara from Brisbane. She recently took a trip to London and Paris and wishes to share with us her LVoot as well as photos of the store windows.
She started off at the London Store where an ostrich was displaying his wares using his long neck. She wss LVcky because she received an Alma snowglobe in this store!
Here she is enjoying her brand new Speedy that she purchased in Paris.
Gee,Starbucks is everywhere!
Her favourite store: the Saint-Germain-des-Prés in the 6 arrondissement of Paris. I LVoe, LVoe the wooden fretwork in the façade!
One of her recently acquired pieces is the really warm Logomania scarf.
Lastly, she took a photo of how she organizes her LVs. Thanks for sending the photos in, S. LVoe it!!!

Sometimes, the original is best left alone
With all due respect to Jeff Bridges, an actor I enjoy, John Wayne is Rooster Cogburn. The remake of the original True Grit may be a fine movie on its own. I just don't know if I can be convinced to ignore the iconic performance of The Duke.
I couldn't find a clip of my absolute favorite lines, which come at the end of the film.
Mattie says: Trust you to buy another tall horse.
Rooster says: Yeah. He's not as game as Beau, but Stonehill says he can jump a four rail fence.
Mattie says: You are too old and fat to be jumping horses.
Rooster says: Well, come see a fat old man some time!
Then he waves his hat and jumps the fence.
Mr Bridges may do a fine job with the character. The film may be a fine western. But John Wayne is Rooster Cogburn. I just can't see it any other way.
"Baby sister, I was born game and I intend to go out that way!"

Louis Vuitton Cruise 2011
Washington was supposed to be blasted by a blizzard last night, but it veered to the east sparing the Nation's capital. Unfortunately, the temperatures are still dropping and with blustery winds, it makes it even worse. It's time to dream about warm breezes and sunny days. So what better way to transport oneself than to take a peek at the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2011 Collection . Inspired by Hollywood glamour and the swingin' 60s, the collection is a perfect backdrop to its cotton jacquard bags and mother of pearl arm candies. LVoe it!!!
