Louis Vuitton LVook-See

Ahhhh...the beauty of having a local Louis Vuitton boutique is that you can see the windows as it changes from season to season.  This Spring, the display had a 'Hunger Games' theme to my eyes.  A multitude of feathered arrows seem to target the bag within.  The illusion is spectacular especially from a distance as the colours seem to pulsate before you.

I didn't have much a LVook-see because my SA was already ending her shift and I didn't want to linger.  On the table, they had two Monogram Desire Lockits.  The nylon jacquard didn't do much for me but the lining was impressive.  It's a collector piece most definitely but not something that you can use everyday.  Next to it was the Denim Beach tote which was fabulous due to the combination of the fabric and suede trimmings.

Encased in glass was the Monogram Denim Pochette Round and a Monogram Bouclettes (not shown) which was totally high up on the shelf. I really didn't pay attention to them because I had my eye on the...

....Suship.  Crafted out of the most buttery, soft leather, it was too precious to even play around with.  The silver locking mechanism was a nice touch and how the bag opens up.  The lining is so luxurious.  This bag is strictly a NO PENS or PENCILS bag.  It was amazing and I did stick my head into it to take a whiff of that new leather smell.  Simply LVoe, LVoe, LVoe!!!

Unexpected LVook-See: Lockit and Saumur

I just happened to be in the mall today with Arjay and Liz when we decided to pop in our local boutique. I wasn't really expecting much but lo and behold, someone was LVooking at the New Lockit. I never really understood the expensive price point ($2840 I think for an MM) until I opened the bag. What greeted me was luscious goat leather in sumptuous bordeaux. Now that explained a lot! The MM had an "open pocket" inside plus the fancy pull tab taken from the FW's Fascination Lockit, only to have the resin replaced with vache leather. The piece was amazing!

Next we saw two of the Cruise 2012 Collection pieces. The Perforated Saumur going for around upper $2K and the Pochette with its encased mirror inside ($1250). The canvas was lined in alcantara just like the collection from Spring Summer 2006. The Saumur was more practical but the clutch was really LVoely. The vache leather is also oxidized so it has that patina LVook.

I just added this shot to include the amazing table that the bags were sitting on as well as the side view of the double compartment Saumur.

Pardon the blurry snapshot of me and Arjay. It must've been the martinis we were enjoying! LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!!

Louis Vuitton Monogram Rayures Neverfull

The Monogram Rayures can be seen in stores!!! I LVoe how the stripes cut in the Initiales and Flowers!

Louis Vuitton LVook-See UPDATE: Collections are released November 2!

My boutique invited me yesterday to have LVook-See of the Fall Winter bags that are slated to be released this November 1st but are now pushed back to November 15th. It must be a marketing ploy to catch the wave of Holiday shoppers since I noticed even the Speedy 30 is out of stock on line. Also, rumour has it that LV is planning to change the label "made in USA" for those that come from the San Dimas Factory. Apparently they found a loophole to skirt putting the label on. I guess the US will now be exporting LV to meet the worldwide demand and as most of you know, the rest of the world particularly Asia and Europe prefer the "made in France" pieces. They are all the same in terms of quality anyways so I dunno what the big deal is. Hmmm....well, let's wait and see if it's really going to happen....In any case, shall we LVook at the bags?
The first one they took out was the Olympe from the High End Collection. This is not the first time that LV has created a canvas and leather combo but what I noticed is that the canvas was so soft and supple that it feels like leather. I was truly amazed by this. The bag has three compartments with a middle zipper. I found the flap cumbersome but it can easily be folded inside to make the bag "open". Between the two, I prefer the Bordeaux but it would have been fabulous in black. I initially thought this was a seasonal line but apparently the LVook book says its permanent so maybe they will release it in other colours.

The detailing is very LV especially the locks.
The vache zippered compartment in the back as well the the tabs in the closure was a little bit incongruent with the rest of the design but I guess that it's LV's signature leather so it works.
The next reveal was the Artsy in its new colour Aubergine. By happenstance, I was carrying my old Onatah also in Aubergine but Artsy's colour was flatter and matte as opposed to the pop that my Onatah has.
What impressed me the most is the new Empreinte Citadine GM. I am totally in LVoe with this bag!!!! It comes in Etoupe, Orange and this Midnight Bleu colour that was really, really, really nice. The straps were comfy and the compartment was deep. Also, it came with a small pochette that is detachable. Sigh....*Francis*, I told myself...only one bag a season, walk away since it's part of the permanent line, stop touching the bag, stop playing with it, stop sniffing it...sigh. I am in LVoe!

Louis Vuitton Monogram Fetish Resin Clochettes

Photo: Monogram Fetish Lockit

EEEKKKK!!! I didn't even noticed it when I did the LVook-See. The Fetish (aka Shine) Lockits were supposed to have resin clochettes but due to manufacturing issues, only a handful were produced, maybe for the Lookbook and Trunkshows only. Now I'm not sure if LV actually made some Shine Lockits that have the resin accessory for the mass market but if they did and you do see one, be sure to grab it! That's a pity if they only made canvas clochettes because I think the resin ones really LVook cool. Thanks Jiro for the info!

LVook-See: Monogram Fetish Lockits

Nothing beats spending the weekend than playing with Louis Vuittons! Especially if they are the soon to be released Runway Bags. The three that I saw were from the Monogram Fetish Collection comprising of the Lockit, Lockit BB and the take-my-breath-away Lockit Clutch.
The Clutch's amazing detail is the solid brass manacle that is attached to a chain. Ample enough to hold some stuff for an evening, I don't think it can be used as an everyday bag. Hmmm...I think I can pull it off while shopping at the grocery store. The chain is detachable, though it is permanently fastened to the manacle. I wish it weren't so because it's a great bracelet in itself.
The next two pieces are the petite Lockit BB and its bigger brother, the Lockit. The BB is utterly useless but absolutely adorable. I bet this is a test run piece to see if it will sell to match the highly popular Alma BB. The Lockit on the other hand sits comfortably once held though I wish it came a tad bit bigger. It's definitely the most functional of all of them.

Lined in sumptuous goat leather, the beige makes the interior bright which is an advantage if you are looking for something. Take note: Goat explains the high price tag.
I LVoe the clochette detail on the Monogram Fetish Clutch. Even though the tiret is quite short, the large lip makes it balanced somehow.
The side seam of the Lockit also has this "cut" to it that is an interesting detail.
Of course, a Lockit won't be complete without a lock but for this line it is wrapped in canvas. All three have white contrast stitching, white glaze and white resin zipper pulls that makes the collection unique. Priced at $3050 for the Lockit, $2420 for the Clutch and $1560 for the BB, they are scheduled to be released on August 15 so better hurry if you want to reserve them. LVoe it!!!

Rainy Day LVook See

I know I should have not been been doing this today since it is Good Friday, but Angel, Eddy and I decided to drop by to LVook at sunnies only to be stopped in our tracks when we saw the Ailleurs Cabas Collection.

They were so colourful in a sea of browns that you would have to be really distracted not to notice them.
Spacious like the Neverfull, it has straps that could be adjusted for convenience.
They come in three prints designed by Pippa Cunningham: Promenade, Escale and Aventure. My favourite of all three is the Promenade due to its purple lining.
I felt like I was GoldiLVocks when I complained that they only have two sizes, PM and GM. I miss the middle ground between the two. It is a cruise bag after all so you would think that MM and GM would be more suited for stuffing things in.

Lastly the LVoely SA also brought out some Spring Summer goodies that have just arrived starting with the Avante Garde Pochette. Just in case that there is a smidgen of doubt that the clutch is not an LV, you have the VUITTON signature emblazoned with crystals at the front to save you. We also saw the Art Déco Trapèze and Baguette. The leathers are divine but easily impressed upon. The two that we were shown already had them. All in all it was a good day especially one person of our group acquired a new bag that wasn't in stock but would be delivered in the not so distant future. *WinK* LVoe it!!!

LVook See: Scott Campbell for Louis Vuitton

Oooohhh...I thought I would never see these aside from the press photos. They are printed stoles on 100% cotton designed by Scott Campbell for Louis Vuitton. Based on Chinese astrological symbols, the celebrity ink artist has reinterpreted the iconic Monogram logos to create fanciful images for the Men's Spring Summer 2011 collection. Minh, a LVoe Reader sent them over when he visited the boutique today. I believe they are only available where Men's Ready-to-Wear are but maybe an excellent SA can pull strings to have one sent over to your local boutique. Currently priced at $540, they will come in Etoupe and Bleu as shown. Thanks, M for sending in your LVook-See photos. LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!!

LVook See Thursday

Without anything better to do on a cold Thursday evening, Jerome and I decided to treck to our local LV boutique. Sadly, what used to be open late on a Thurs, was closed. I didn't even realize that they changed their hours. So, we opted for the crowded "Mall LV". As expected, the place was jammed packed with only two associates on hand. I felt bad for them so didn't want to be a burden just to LVook at what's out.

The first thing I saw was a hybrid Neverfull. I have never seen it before and wondered if it were a new style. It was only Jerome who pointed out that it was the Damier Rivington, with its zipper closed. The LVook totally transformed the bag and made it so much more interesting.
After which, I did get to play with the Idylle Fantaisie. Nothing special but perfect for a lazy summer outing. Below it was the Damier Azur Siracusa. Large and bright, this will surely be a hit once the weather starts warming up.
Lastly, as we were walking out, I feasted my eyes on the Monogram Estrela. I LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!! It is soooo Vuitton and a happy addition to the Monogram Collection. I'm sorry that I am not as thorough as my other LVook-Sees. I just felt bad for the sales associates.
