It’s not true if anybody says that entertainment industry, especially in Hollywood, doesn’t care about education. You’ve seen many actors and actresses, despite their fame and rich, still go to college to get higher education. Besides that, many movies and television series also use school or university as their background place or story, which can encouraged youngster to continue studying.

Among those “College TV series”, my favorite would be Veronica Mars. Starred by Kristen Bell, this show tells the story of a student who progresses from high school to college while moonlighting as a private investigator under the tutelage of her detective father. In each episode, Veronica Mars solves a different stand-alone case using her wit, while she still has to deal with relationship problems with her friends and all school assignments, which include essay and paper.

Anyway, I also think that Hellcats is great. Probably not because of the story, but because Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale are so hot! The series focuses on a pre-law college student who has to join the cheerleading team, the Hellcats, in order to get the athletic scholarship she needs.

Now, how about the genres? Veronica Mars is in crime/investigation genre, while Hellcats is a drama. Many “College TV Series” are in comedy genre, which include Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Saved by The Bell: The College Years, Sophomores, and 3rd Rock from the Sun. Some of them are also in action genre, although they probably focus less on college life, such as Superboy and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Still, most of the college and school television series have the same resemblance, that is how to balance between personal life/career/hobby with school/college life.
