Set 90? Really? Wow. That's a lot of music over the last year and a half.
I guess this is a good time to share the ear worms I've had at various times over the last month. There's sappy and there's silly and there's fluffy. And then there's a couple with upbeat happy sounding melodies that are completely incongruous with the lyrics.
Hmmm...incongruous. Can I use a $3 word like that on a Friday?
Judges say...yes I can.
Alright then.
Oh...I forgot to say that there is no blaming me if any of these get stuck in your head today.
Here's the sappy...I Like Dreaming, written and performed by Kenny Nolan, 1977.
Here's one with a bright melody but a bit of a sad lyric...Goodbye Cruel World, written by Gloria Shayne, as performed by James Darren, 1961.
And a bit of silly...Henery the Eighth, by Fred Murray and R.P. Weston, as performed by Herman's Hermits, 1965.
Here's the fluffy...Tracy, by Lee Pockriss and Paul Vance, as performed by The Cufflinks, 1969. I dare you not to smile, tap your feet, bob your head, and bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah right long when you listen to this one.
And here's the other one with a snappy fun melody incongruous with the lyric...Here Comes My Baby, written by Cat Stevens, as performed by The Tremeloes, 1967.
