I stumbled on Rick's blog some time ago. He has always provided thought provoking essays on the craft of writing. The excerpts he has shared from his own work are well written and chillingly good. His devotion to writers and the protection of their work from those who would plagiarize it is admirable. And he often has an encouraging word for insecure writers like me who are just trying to find their way.
Rick has collected some outstanding short fiction to include in this first edition. I encourage you to check it out. You'll even find some good work from a couple of blog pals of mine, Charles Gramlich and Stewart Sternberg.
